Wiring and Rewiring

Wiring work is either a new circuit to a defined point, or replacement of conductors that no longer belong in the wall. Both depend on how the building is built. M.W. WEBS Electrica does this work on a de-energized circuit after the path is agreed.

Who this is for

People in the middle of a renovation, or living with wiring that is damaged, incomplete, or too limited for a planned change. Whole-house historic rewires and industrial cable tray work are not assumed.

Typical requests

  • A new circuit for a kitchen zone, workshop, or office
  • Replacement of a damaged run after a leak or a failed splice
  • Moving devices during a wall change while the cavity is open

What the first look decides

The request should say whether walls are open, what the new circuit must serve, and where the panel sits. A visit maps a path that can actually be pulled: joist direction, fire blocks, masonry, and finish you want left intact.

If the walls are closed, fishing is possible in some constructions and impractical in others. That limit is part of the scope, not a surprise on the day.

Scope and dependencies

Often included

Cable, boxes, terminations, and labeling for the agreed circuit. Coordination with the panel space that will receive it.

Often excluded until agreed

Drywall patching beyond small openings, finish paint, and furniture moving. Those can be added in writing if you want them in the same visit.

Process, cost, and preparation

Open-wall work is faster and cleaner than fishing. Cost follows that difference, plus panel capacity and the number of ends. Prepare a floor sketch, note which walls can be opened, and keep the panel reachable.

Wiring FAQ

Can you rewire a whole house?

A full rewire is a project, not a single device visit. It can be discussed after a walk-through. It is not priced from this page.

Do you work with the walls closed?

Sometimes. Plaster, brick, and concrete change the answer. Say what the walls are made of if you know.

Will you leave the power on in the rest of the house?

That is the usual aim for a single-circuit job. It is confirmed in the scope, not guaranteed for every building.

Is this the right page for a charger circuit?

Start with EV charger installation. The cable run is part of that review.
